About the Santa Cruz Blues Festival on the Monterey Bay

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
The 2010 Santa Cruz Blues Festival

* Top names in blues and roots music  for two days in a natural amphitheater surrounded by oaks and redwoods near the Pacific Ocean.

* Food booths serving a variety of cuisine, including BBQ, Asian, Mexican, Indian, deep-fried Southern home cooking, vegetarian and Cajun among other choices. We also have Kettle Korn, frozen juice bars and smoothies, desserts and water and other non-alcoholic beverages.
* Adult-beverage booth serving Budweiser, Bud Light, and Redhook beers and Wente Vineyards wine.
* Children’s entertainment area with face painting and balloon twisting.
* A portion of festival proceeds to benefit a local charity.

TICKET INFORMATION
The Gold Circle comprises the seating area in front of the stage on 900 provided chairs. You can't bring a chair here. Gold Circle seats are not numbered, and are on a first-come, first-served basis. Come early!  If  you arrive late, you will still have a seat, but it might not be with the one you love or the one you want to be with.
Drink service is available in the Gold Circle but food must be purchased in the food court near the Blues Pavilion at the back of the park. Gold Circle seats for children cost the same as adult seats. Children under age 6 must either have a ticket or remain on a parent’s lap during the entire show.

General Admission lawn seating is available on a first-come, first-served  basis. Chairs are not provided in this area (read the Do’s and Don’ts section below for further details about blankets and low-back chairs).  Children age 6 and under are admitted free in the General Admission area when accompanied by an adult. Children 7 to  12 are $25.

EVENT HOURS
Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30. Gates open at 10am; show begins at 11am and ends at approximately 7pm. No in and outs after 3 p.m.

Luxury shuttle bus transport from Cabrillo College begins at 9am. Cabrillo College parking lot opens at 8am. There is no parking at the festival site.

Driving from the San Francisco BayArea:

Take Interstate 880/17 South to Highway 1 South.
Take the Park Avenue exit and turn left.
Turn right on Soquel Drive.
Drive two miles to Cabrillo College.
Follow signs to lower-campus parking lots. Parking is free.
Take free luxury shuttle bus to event.

Driving from Monterey:

Take Highway 1 North.
Take the Park Avenue exit and turnright.
Drive 2 miles to Cabrillo College.
Follow signs to lower-campusparking lots. Parking is free.
Take free luxury shuttle bus toevent.

HANDICAP INFORMATION
The Santa Cruz Blues Festival ishandicap accessible. Handicap parking is available at Cabrillo College where ahandicap shuttle will transport passengers to Aptos Village Park throughout theday. Please follow handicap-parking signs to the Handicap Parking/Shuttle lot. Downloadable map to Cabrillo College is available at the link above. MONEY & ATM
The Santa Cruz Blues Festival is ascrip-based event and cash will not be accepted at any booths except the Festival Gear, Artist Table, and CD booths. As you enter the park please visit the Blues Bucks booth to purchase Blues Bucks tickets.  Only cash, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.  An ATM is located in the Blues Pavilion next to the Food Court.


DOs AND DON'Ts

DO (bring):
Low-profile lawn chairs up to 30 inches with a seat height of no more than 10 inches are allowed in the GeneralAdmission seating area.
Blanket or towel if not bringing alow chair.
One personal bottle of water
A still camera (no video)
Layered clothing
A hat
Sunscreen

DON’T (bring):
Lawn chairs taller than 30 inches or 10 inches from the ground to the bottom of the seat.
Dogs
Food
Alcohol
Cans or bottles or containers
Coolers
Cameras with removable lenses, recording devices, or digital video cameras.

NEW RULES: Smoking is no longer allowed anywhere inside Santa Cruz County parks. The Santa Cruz County Parksand Sheriff’s Office do not allow colors of any organization to be worn at any public event.
